FORK the Fork in the Road: Reclaiming My Creative Path
A declaration of autonomy. A return to self and soul purpose. — Think Piece No. 1
Ever received an email that feels like a plot twist in your own story?
That’s exactly what happened when the infamous “Fork in the Road” email hit the inboxes of millions of government employees—including mine.
It signaled more than just a reorganization; it was part of a broader political shift—a packaged disruption presented as reform.
While the language spoke of streamlining operations and serving the public good, the reality was far more complex.
It reshaped priorities, unsettled lives, and left many navigating uncertainty under the banner of what they would call “progress.”
But instead of fear, I felt clarity.
I didn’t just take the fork—I flipped it, set the table, and started serving what was always mine:
My soul purpose. My creative expression. My soul-aligned work.
This Think Piece marks the beginning of that new chapter.
I’ve always felt called to—more
Even when I wasn’t quite sure what “more” looked like.
But I knew I was raised in service:
Service to family. Service to community. Service to the Great Spirit.
Over time, that call crystallized into a soul mission. And I got to debut pieces of that mission in a space that embraced it:
General Services Administration (GSA), Office of Assisted Acquisition Services.
The team I worked with became like an extended family, supporting me through both professional growth and personal transformation.
3 Years of Service. 5 Months of Realization. A Lifetime of Purpose.
After building both technical and interpersonal skills across industries—hospitality, food service, banking, nonprofit, and private sector—I entered the government space through acquisition.
At the time, I wasn’t sure what I had to offer beyond a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and a relentless willingness to figure things out.
What I lacked in formal experience, I made up for in self-belief.
I knew what I knew—and more importantly, I had the capacity to learn what I didn’t.
That mindset shaped my journey, and for three years, I gave it everything I had.
I’ve faced my share of challenges—from unexpected setbacks to career pivots—but each experience sharpened my resilience, deepened my purpose, and reminded me that while the path hasn’t been linear, it’s always been mine to experience, to learn from, and to grow through.
Let me keep it 💯
Every day leading up to my decision to enter the Deferred Resignation Program (DRP)—and every day after—hasn’t been smooth sailing.
For those who may not be familiar, the Deferred Resignation Program (DRP) is a formal initiative within the federal government that allows eligible employees to voluntarily resign or retire early in lieu of a potential Reduction in Force (RIF). Through this program, participants receive administrative leave pay and retain their federal benefits for up to six months—offering a more supportive transition during periods of workforce restructuring, while still navigating the realities of what that truly means—grappling with the emotional, spiritual, and practical layers of releasing stability for alignment.
It’s one thing to recognize when something no longer serves you, but it’s another to live out that truth in real time—especially when comfort, routine, or perceived security were part of the package. I’m still learning how to sit with uncertainty, how to trust a new rhythm, and how to reintroduce myself to my purpose without the old title attached.
It was a soul-stretching experience—choosing to separate from the stability I had worked so hard to build, and instead, step boldly into the sea of the unknown.
A esoteric space I refer to as: the realm of all possibilities.
And still, I wasn’t afraid to say it: FORK, The Fork in the Road!
Because The Fork in the Road wasn’t just a career shift—it was a spiritual one. The beginning of a new phase. A turning point where I stop viewing the past years of my journey as time lost… and start recognizing them as the sacred ground where I am quietly reclaiming my power and sharing pieces of my journey.
Most days, I had to fight through my mental. I allowed myself to grieve.
Grieve the parts of me that once allowed others’ opinions to dictate my original ability from the Great Spirit (G_D):
The ability to think for myself.
I grieved the moments I felt like I wasn’t good enough, creative enough.
I hid how I truly felt inside.
Avoided the reality that needed facing.
Faked being okay, while giving the safe answer:
“I’m good.”
I was worried about upsetting or offending others—instead of defending what my soul needed.
But no longer.
No longer will I allow myself to be washed under the current of these circumstances.
No longer will I shrink to fit expectations that limit the expansion of spirit.
No longer will I betray the truth of what I feel.
Living the Mission, Not Just the Role.
I’ve always valued spiritual, mental, and physical balance—and naturally, I brought those values into every space I entered.
Whether it was mindfulness, human-centered connection, or holistic support, I led with intention.
Over time, I realized what I offered couldn’t be confined to a single role or title.
It wasn’t just about bringing good energy to the workplace—it was a deeper calling to embody my mission fully, beyond the boundaries of any system.
“My mission isn’t something to be confined; it’s meant to evolve, expand, and create meaningful impact wherever I go.”
— SAGΞ
And so, I answered the call—and took the leap.
This Shift is Spiritual.
It’s Social. It’s Personal.
The mental strain.
The disconnection.
The quiet exhaustion I witnessed in my colleagues—
It wasn’t just work stress…
It was a social pattern, a soul-level depletion.
And I couldn’t witness it and stay silent.
This next chapter is about reflecting what I’ve learned—and what I’m still learning—back to humanity.
Through soul work.
Through creativity.
Through presence.
So here I am—SAGΞ Thee Cre8tor—introducing not just a personal brand or moniker, but a movement rooted in:
Self - Awareness
Self - Development
Self - Empowerment
The Fork in the Road… I never knew I needed!
Yes, it started with an email.
But this energy—the forced reckoning, the unexpected pivot, the internal war of what is vs. what could be—
It extends far beyond the current events we’re all facing.
It lives in every decision that challenges your alignment.
Every moment that dares you to listen deeper to what you truly desire.
Every fork in the road is a reminder: you are not defined by what you go through. I’ve learned that life isn’t happening to you, and it’s not happening for you—it’s happening through you. You are the vessel. You have the ability to create, to shift, to transform your situation by tapping into infinite possibilities. Why not create something beautiful…
